Maskey welcomes Primrose Hill traffic light switch onPublished: 19 December, 2008
South Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey has welcomed the fact that new traffic light at the Primrose Hill/Saintfield Road junction, this week, became fully functional.
"Sinn Féin had long lobbied for traffic lights to be situated at this junction and we warmly welcomed the fact that as an original condition of granting planning permission for the further development of this area by 'Taggart Homes', they had to commit to installing traffic signals at this junction.
"I would welcome, then, the fact that these traffic lights became fully functional this week. This issue had dragged on for far too long, and posed a very real danger to both motorists and pedestrians in this area. I am extremely pleased that the Roads Service moved swiftly to deal with this issue after 'Taggart Homes' went into administration". CRÍOCH |
