South and East Belfast Sinn Féin -- Building an Ireland of Equals

Reject BNP message of hate

Published: 17 April, 2009

Balmoral Sinn Féin representative Vincent Parker has called on people to reject the BNP's message of hate. Mr Parker was speaking in relation to a BNP email campaign in the area.

Mr Parler said,

"The politics of racism and hatred peddled by the BNP and their fellow travelers try to stir up fear and mistrust by peddling lies and misinformation.

"The best way to tackle the cancer of racism and bigotry is through honest debate about how we are different and how we are the same and about the contribution that diversity brings.

"No-one should be fooled by the lies peddled by the BNP. Our social problems have nothing to do with people from different countries coming to live here and nothing to do with the colour of someone's skin or what language they speak. Racism will do nothing to solve any of our social problems. Racism, from whatever quarter offers nothing constructive." CRÍOCH
