South Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey is to attend the public consultation on Planning reform which will take place this Friday 11th September in Grosvenor House, Glengall Street, Belfast at 10:30am.

He has also encouraged residents groups from across South Belfast to attend and contribute to the consultation.

Alex Maskey MLA said,

"The Environment Minister, Edwin Poots, is currently carrying out a review of the Planning system here. Planning is a major issue in South Belfast, one that constituents contact my office about on a daily basis.

"Planning is also an issue which I have consistently highlighted as needing overhauled.

"This review will culminate in a major reform of planning here and I would encourage all residents groups, and interested parties, in the South Belfast area to make sure that their voice is heard during this consultation, this is an opportunity for the people of South Belfast to have an input into the very Planning policy which has caused so many problems within the South Belfast area."
