East Belfast racist graffiti 'reprehensible'

Published: 23 October, 2009

East Belfast Sinn Féin representative Niall Ó'Donnghaile has hit out at those responsible for painting racist graffiti, including Nazi symbols, on the home of a Zimbabwean man in East Belfast earlier this week.

Mr Ó'Donnghaile said,

This attack on the home of this man is completely reprehensible and despicable act.

"Unfortunately, this type of hate crime is not new to our society. Racism has no place in our society and must be faced down wherever it rears its head.

"The intimidation and attacks against the ethnic minority community in East Belfast must be investigated to the fullest and those responsible brought before the courts." CRÍOCH
