Parker formally submits Sinn Féin response to Bill of Rights consultationPublished: 31 March, 2010
Balmoral Sinn Féin representative, and head of the Party's Equality and Human Rights Department, Vincent Parker today was today joined by Foyle MLA Martina Anderson MLA in handing over Sinn Féin's formal submission to the consultation on a Bill of Rights for the north.
Vincent Parker, speaking this afternoon, said, "Sinn Féin rejects the British Government/NIO consultation document and demands that it be withdrawn and that a meaningful process be put in place to implement a Bill of Rights that is worthy of the aspiration of all in our communities for a rights based society that offers protections for the most vulnerable and respects the diversity of our community and has equality at its very core.
"Today we submitted our formal response which is available for view on our website, www.sinnfein.ie, as well as thousands of submissions handed into Sinn Féin offices across the North." CRÍOCH |
