Maskey to raise South Belfast issues with Social Development Minister
Published: 2 September, 2010
South Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey is to meet with Social Development Minister Alex Attwood to discuss a number of issues relating to South Belfast.
Alex Maskey MLA said,
"With the appointment of Alex Attwood as Social Development Minister it is important to review what progress has been made on a number of issues which I had raised with his predecessor Margaret Ritchie.
"I had met with Margaret Ritchie on a number of occasions to discuss varying issues relating to South Belfast including; the Holylands area, the need for a mandatory landlord registration scheme, the delay in implementing Environmental Improvement Schemes in the Market area, and HMO regulation and registration.
"Unfortunately, Margaret Ritchie's track record on these issues, while Minister, was less than impressive.
"I look forward to meeting with the current Social Development Minister, Alex Attwood, and I would hope that he would show a greater commitment to these issues than his predecessor did. I look forward to working with him in the future". CRÍOCH
