South Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey has hit out at the PSNI after they denied that the burning out of a family in the Ballynafeigh area last Sunday was motivated by sectarian hatred. Sinn Féin Assembly member Alex Maskey has accused the SDLP leader Mark Durkan of 'insulting the intelligence of victims of collusion'. Mr Maskey, himself a victim of British Agent Brian Nelson, made his remarks after the SDLP leader claimed that the release of the Police Ombudsman report into the murder of Raymond McCord Junior would finally prove allegations of collusion where true. Mr Durkan however ignored the fact that for two decades when collusion was at its height the SDLP dismissed collusion as 'republican propaganda'. Read full article

Balmoral Sinn Féin representative Stiofan Long has expressed concerns at the approach of the Electoral Office to people who are attempting to get onto the Electoral Register. South Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey has appealed to those who are opposed to the implementation of traffic management measures in the Stranmillis area to use the period of time in which a public consultation will be carried out to try and iron out any problems they may have, adding that, "The majority of people in this area want some form of traffic management scheme implemented in the area. Sinn Fein's East Belfast representative Niall O Donnghaile has said he is delighted by the response of The Carvill Group to his concerns that a derelict hut on land at the old Sirocco site at Short Strand was being used as a drug den.
