South Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey has expressed his support for his Sinn Féin colleague Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD who is currently en route to join the Freedom Flotilla bringing much needed humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people of Gaza.
Aengus left Cyprus by boat on Tuesday and is attempting to break the illegal Israeli blockade of Gaza. Read full article

South Belfast Sinn Féin Assembly member Alex Maskey last week raised the case of Kevin Kennedy at a meeting in the Policing Board. Mr Kennedy was forced to resign from a position in the Board in 2004 after the PSNI refused him security clearance on the basis that his brother was a member of Sinn Féin. Read full article

Bairbre de Brún MEP has called on the EU to ensure adequate climate finance for developing countries following a report that the 'early start' funding in the Copenhagen Accord could fall short of what was promised at that time.
Ms de Brún has said that any failure to provide adequate 'early start' funding will not only increase the risk for developing countries in their effort to deal with climate change but will send damaging signals about the EUs commitment in advance of the UN talks in Bonn and in Cancún.
