Sinn Féin call for Independent members of DPPsPublished: 13 November, 2007
Sinn Féin Policing Board member Alex Maskey MLA has called on people from across the community to apply for positions as Independent Members on the newly constituted District Policing Partnerships. Mr Maskey said: "District Policing Partnerships are a key mechanism for ensuring that Policing is accountable to the community it serves. The partnerships themselves therefore need to be representative of the whole community. "I would encourage people to apply for these posts that are currently being advertised in councils across the North to ensure that the necessary work of achieving an accountable, civic policing service continues and that all our communities get the type of policing we deserve." |
