Ó Donnghaile condemns weekend vandalism

Speaking after a number of mail boxes at Pottinger's Quay on the Short Strand were vandalised, Sinn Féin's East Belfast Representative Niall Ó Donnghaile has condemned the actions of a few mindless thugs not from the area intent on causing damage.

He also thanked a local member of Sinn Féin, whose vigilance ensured that the mail was retrieved from those who took it.

"I condemn this act of vandalism outright and I want to commend the local Sinn Féin member who retrieved the mail that was removed from these boxes by the people who also vandalised them."

"I have visited Pottinger's Quay to inform residents there that their post was retrieved and to offer assistance in any way possible."

"This type of wanton vandalism has no place in our community."
