Annual Short Strand spring clean-up 2008

Short Strand Partnership board member Niall Ó Donnghaile has called on people within the Short Strand to take part in this year's annual spring clean.

"The clean-up will take place on Wednesday 14th May and as usual will involve a number of initiatives to help enhance our area."

"Graffiti will be removed from walls and once again skips will be located at several points throughout the district in order for people to leave major household rubbish. These skips will be removed later the same day."

"I am also delighted to say that hanging baskets will be placed from lampposts on the

Mountpottinger Road

and at a later date the partnership will be making baskets and window boxes available at a reduced price. Hopefully this will go some way in brightening the area in the run up to the summer period."
