Margaret Ritchie should explain if she will be on course to deliver on her promise to build 1500 social houses
Niall Ó Donnghaile, Sinn Féin Representative for East Belfast has asked Margaret Ritchie to explain if she will be on course to deliver on her promise to build 1500 social houses this year as detailed in the budget.
"The Minister should be honest and tell those 40,000 people on the waiting list if she is able to deliver on her promise. So much depends on the commitment she made earlier this year and people are becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress from her department.
I deal with people everyday from East Belfast desperate for somewhere for them and their families to live, the Minister must up her game and act urgently to help solve this growing problem. It would also be of great interest to people living in East Belfast to know whether or not any of these social homes will be included in the forthcoming development of the Sirocco Quays site."
